Running Survey!

  1. Would you rather run along a beach path or on a mountain trail? Gosh. Started off with a toughie. I choose beach only because I love the ocean. But sand running is hard.
  2.  If you could choose the flavor of gatorade at your next race’s aid stations, what would it be?  Gah. I can’t do Gatorade or Powerade anymore. It makes me sick. Lemon lime every race! Blech. I do have Nuun which is okay. I have the cherry limeade flavor.
  3.  If I gave you a $100 gift card to a running store, what would be the first thing that you would purchase with it? SHOES. I need new shoes so bad. 
  4.  Do you prefer to follow a training plan or wake up and decide then how far and how fast you want to run? I always try to plan but I usually just go by how I’m feeling that day.
  5.  Would you rather start your run with the uphill and end on the downhill or start your run with the downhill and end with the uphill? Start uphill 100%. 
  6.  When you can’t run, what type of cross-training do you choose to do?  Yoga or spin 
  7.  What is your preference—>  Out and back, point to point or loop runs?  Hmmm… point to point loop 
  1.  If you could recommend ANY running related item to a new runner, it would be a—> Good shoes! Nice, quality, modeled to your foot kind of shoes. 
  1.  Do you ever see any wild animals while out on your runs? Lots of rabbits. A snake once. 
  1.  Ever gotten lost while out on a run? Yes, but only in the Riparian Reserve so I knew if I just kept turning, I’d eventually find my way out. Maybe not the right street but out none the less. Nothing dramatic. Surprisingly ’cause I’m always lost.  
  1.  If you could have one meal waiting and ready for you each time you got home from a run for the next 30 days… what would that meal be? Pancakes. 
  1.  Capris or shorts… what do you run in most often? Capris. 
  1.  At what mile (or how many minutes) into your run does your body start to feel like it is warming up and ready to go? After the first 2 miles. 
  1.  What do you do with your key when you run? I put my keys in a little hidden cubby hole in my car but unhook my key fob and either put it in my flip belt (when I remember it) or my sports bra (when I don’t.) 
  1.  If you could relive any race that you have done in the past, which one what it be? Either my first St George marathon or my Disneyland half 
  1.  What type of run is your least favorite type of run? Sprints! 
  1.  What has been your biggest motivation lately to get out the door to get your run on? I really want to have strong marathon in Feb. 
  1.  When you go for a run, do you leave right from your front door or do you drive somewhere to start?  It depends on the day and how I’m feeling. I’m lucky to have a few trails nearby and a track literally 1/4 mile away from my front door. 
  1.  When running in daylight—>  are sunglasses a must or an annoyance? Annoyance. 
  1.  When you get tired, what keeps you from quitting? Sometimes, it’s really about running out so far and I have to get home somehow. Sometimes it’s about wanting to be prepared for a race. Sometimes it’s just about telling myself it’ll make me better to keep going than giving up. Sometimes, it’s easier than others….
